Ridgeline Receives Success Memos from DIU for Training Delivery, Curriculum Design, and Organizational UTS Survey

TYSONS, Va. – Ridgeline is pleased to announce that we have received prototype success memos for developing and implementing unique solutions to protect the digital footprints of Department of Defense personnel and safeguard sensitive information. This was part of a prototype effort with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Enhanced Protection of Information Capabilities (EPIC) project. This milestone, authorized by DIU, satisfies government requirements for market research and establishes Ridgeline as trusted training and solutions provider for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. government.

As a leader in Signature Management focused on developing solutions that mitigate the risk of Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance (UTS), Ridgeline International was selected to perform an Organizational UTS Survey to quantify and analyze the digital signature at an organization-level and to design and deliver personal digital signature management and Counterintelligence (CI) training.

Our cadre of Signature Management subject matter experts and Advisory Services personnel quantified and analyzed the “digital exhaust” an organization was creating through their operational activities to detect UTS threats to personnel, locations, and activities. This Organizational UTS Survey identified several UTS risk vectors that could be mitigated through specialized workforce training offered by Ridgeline. Over the course of this pilot, our Advisory Services department collaborated to successfully design curriculum and deliver novel tech-enhanced signature management training based on our proprietary Pattern of Life Anomaly Response (POLAR) Training Series and CI courseware.

Ridgeline’s POLAR Model used as part of the POLAR Training Series to conceptualize the Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance threat.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from the Defense Innovation Unit,” says Erik Wittreich, CEO of Ridgeline. “This achievement underscores Ridgeline’s continuing effort to build awareness about the threat of Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance within the DoD and to provide training and solutions that solve our customers’ toughest Signature Management and Digital Force Protection challenges.”

Launched in late 2022, in partnership with the U.S. Army, EPIC set out to provide a comprehensive solution for protecting the data of personnel throughout servicemembers’ careers – from onboarding, training, and offboarding personnel. The project is a blend of technical, analytical, and training solutions to address key digital fingerprint security gaps including best-of-breed commercial analytical tools. In total, 46 companies responded to the Area of Interest (AoI) posted on DIU’s website, and five companies were put on contract to provide a holistic digital protection and obfuscation suite for members of the U.S. Army’s Intelligence and Security Command.

These success memos not only capture the work accomplished via this Other Transaction prototype, but also enable entities from across the DoD to execute follow-on contracts of varying types and authorities, streamlining the DoD’s ability to work with Ridgeline.
